A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UKZN and an international education institution based in Mauritius, Amity Business School, has been finalised.
The MoU was signed earlier this year and the director of the school in Mauritius, Dr Dhananjay Keskar, visited UKZN to discuss and complete the agreement.
UKZN’s Dr Upasana Singh was the driver and orchestrator of the MoU.
At the meeting to finalise the arrangement were the Head of UKZN’s School of Management, Information Technology and Governance, Professor Brian McArthur; principal international advisor from the international relations department, Tasmeera Singh, and UKZN academics Dr Muhammad Hoque and Professor Stephen Migiro of the Graduate School of Business and Leadership.
Various elements of the MoU were discussed such as student exchange programmes which would enable UKZN students at undergraduate level to register with the institution for their studies on a full-time basis for one semester and vice-versa.
Also explored were the possibility of conducting faculty research seminars and workshops via Skype sessions, a staff exchange programme and a joint degree and curriculum development programme.
