A 2020 graduate is nominated to Presidential Working Group

Bright Hlongwane, a 2020 graduate, has been nominated to the Presidential Youth Working Group chaired by President Cyril Ramaphosa. The Presidential Youth Working Group was established to mainstream youth development and empowerment in the work of government.
Bright said he was “excited by the fact that young people are slowly being listened to, and being given a chance to contribute meaningfully to the growth of South Africa and the continent.” At MUT, South Africa and beyond, Bright is known as a staunch advocate of entrepreneurship. During Youth Day (June 16) 2020, young Bright was on Ukhozi FM and eTV News, talking about how important it was that the country’s youth got involved in business as job creators, not job seekers. Bright has two businesses of his own, UrbanZulu Group Pty Ltd, a brand marketing company, and Youth in Business, an NPO. In 2017 Bright attended the Advanced Entrepreneurship Programme at Stanford University in the United States. Bright said at the time that he would share the knowledge with his peers.
Bright is among the 2484 MUT students that are graduating virtually this year. He graduates with a Diploma in Public Administration. Like any other student, Bright regards this achievement as a milestone in his life.
