Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the digital revolution has impacted the future of work, people, and learning. Developments in robotics, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning are changing the requirements of the future workforce while technology is at the forefront of growth, development, and sustainability. Adding to this, South Africa faces a crisis of youth unemployment.

Approximately two-thirds of the 1.2 million young people who enter the labour market each year remain outside of employment, education, or training.

With this in mind, YouthED was established. As a registered non-profit organisation, YouthED will equip and empower the talented youth of Southern Africa by enabling learning and creating outstanding and equal education opportunities, to help fight unemployment in our country.

YouthED will officially be launched today, 21 October 2022 with its website going live and is offering 300 partial tuition bursaries up to the value of R20 000 towards IT Faculty studies at CTU Training Solutions.

YouthED will operate in partnership with CTU Training Solutions, an award-winning private tertiary education provider that has been developing skilled professionals since 1987.

Funding and financial support for learners will therefore be channelled through the qualifications offered by CTU.

The four founding members of YouthED, with their wealth of experience in education, learning and training, realised the need to address the lack of resources for individuals and communities who wishes to improve their lives through education.

According to Johan Wildenboer, PR and Events Manager for YouthED: “We aspire to create a better future for our youth, with more skills and less unemployment. It is our mission to make a difference through education and skills development.

“It is the mission of YouthED to make tertiary education possible for all, empower through partnerships with government, corporates and community organisations and provide access to resources and talent that can significantly impact education in South Africa.“

YouthED aspires to empower and support youth through various funding models. YouthED is seeking partnerships and collaboration with the government, media, corporates, and community organisations to assist us in making this possible.
