The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) will host the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) National Student Project Competition

on Thursday, 23 November 2017 at the Unite School of Engineering Building, Howard College Campus at 10:30. (Enter via Gate 8 on Rick Turner Road).

The annual event brings together the very best Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering (EECE) final-year students from academic universities and universities of technology in South Africa.

Each student showcases their intensive design projects to a panel of adjudicators. Academic Leader for Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering at UKZN, Dr Leigh Jarvis, says, “We are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to creative and innovative design. We have a history of doing well in this competition. This year, Mr Joshua Piggott will be representing us with his project titled ‘Digital Soldier Tactical Communications System”.

The project is a communications system that can reliably route messages and files through a dynamic communications network, designed for soldiers in the field.
