Six scholarships open for South Africans

The Department of Higher Education and Training has released six scholarship programmes for which South Africans can open.

These are:

BRAZIL

• Short programme for postgraduates
• Innovation and Science Diplomacy School at the University of Sao Paulo from 21-30 August 2019
• Deadline for applications: 5 May 2019

• Brazilian Government Exchange Programme
• Undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships
• Tuition only
• Applications are opened annually through the Embassy of Brazil in SA
• Candidates must register to sit for the Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras) examination
• A preparatory course is available at Brazil-SA Cultural Centre (CCBAS).

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

• Master’s and PhDs
• Khalifa University Postgraduate Scholarships
• Master’s in programmes in Engineering Sciences or Petroleum Geology
• PhDs in interdisciplinary programmes
• Deadline for applications: 30 April 2019

EGYPT

• Bachelor scholarships in Egypt

FRANCE

• Universite Paris-Saclay International Master’s Scholarship Programme
  All master’s programmes for which Universite Paris-Saclay in accredited except for vocational training
• Deadlines for applications: 13 May 2019

AZERBAIJAN

• Bachelor or Masters
• International Fellowship at ADA University
• Tuition fee only
• Deadline: 1 July 2019 (late applications)
