SA’s finest university athletes to compete in Taipei

One and eighty students, representing 10 sports codes, will compete in the 29th Summer Universiade, which takes place from 19 to 30 August 2017.

Also known as the also known as the World Student Games, USSA says that as an organisation that continues to produce world-class athletes,

“Our incredibly talented student-athletes, high performance programmes, sport facilities, financial investment and leadership provided by our member universities, corporates, parents, alumni and the University communities, continue play a massive role and we cherish the continued support and efforts,” it explains.

USSA says that it believes Team SA will improve and prosper from the 2015 results, and achieve the set target of 10 medals.

The team will be led by Jerry Laka, the Chef de Mission by the USSA NEC.
