Higher education to sponsor UWC with over R300m worth of infrastructure

The Minister of Higher Education and Training, Naledi Pandor will unveil the Department of Higher Education and Training’s sponsored infrastructure projects worth over R300 million at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) campuses in Cape Town on Tuesday 13 November 2018.

Through the Department’s Infrastructure and Efficiency Grant (IEG), UWC has completed the refurbishment and extension of two state-of-art buildings; the newly refurbished Faculty of Community and Health Sciences (CHS) building in Bellville and the Computational and Mathematical Sciences (CAMS) building on the main campus.

The extension and refurbishment of the two buildings was completed at total costs of R315, 078 million.
