As of the 2021 academic year – UKZN will be offering a one-year master’s degree in Architecture for applicants who hold a Bachelor of Architecture degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture.

A two-year, part-time master’s degree is also offered to applicants who hold a Bachelor of Architectural Technology or Architectural Studies degree, with five to ten years (5 to 10 years) practical experience. These applicants may enrol in the master’s degree programme via rule GR7, which is based on prior learning and allows for bridging modules in Research Methodology, History and Theory.

Students currently registered for the two-year master’s programme have until 2022 to complete their degree.

The University is currently awaiting approval for the new Bachelor of Architecture honours degree from the Department of Higher Education and Training. We anticipate that this programme will be approved in time for the 2022 academic year. For more information on Architecture postgraduates degrees, please contact Ms NolundiMzolo on 031 260 2689 or atmzolon@ukzn.ac.za
