

Ekurhuleni West TVET officially launches Corporate Centre and two Engineering Training Workshops

The Minister of Higher Education and Training, Honourable Naledi Pandor, will officially launch Ekurhuleni West TVET College Newly Built Corporate Centre and two (2) new Engineering Training Workshops at a ceremony to be held on Monday, 27 August 2018 at Germiston. The Honourable Minister will be joined by the Gauteng and Free State Acting Regional Manager, Ms Hellen Ntlatleng, the Chairperson of College Council, Dr Mpho Mohlala, as well as other dignitaries from different sectors at this event.
The main objective of building the Corporate Centre was to consolidate all the functions and operations under one roof to:
- build competent staff within the Corporate Centre.
- ensure that shared services or pooled functions are available to improve the quality of service.
- improve efficiency and effectiveness
The two Engineering Training Workshops are for meant training Motor Mechanics, and Fitting and Turning students. Both Workshops are fully equipped with new and latest technology workshops equipment. Ford Motor Company SA donated for vehicle (Ford Rangers) and MAN Bus and Truck SA donated truck engines, gearbox and other components for the students’ practical purposes. Ford Rangers are shared within the four campuses.
Members of the media are invited to a media briefing which will form part of the ceremony, at which Minister Pandor, Ms Hellen Ntlatleng and Ms Dangazele will provide details on the new buildings, as well as other related issues.
